“The Fisherman’s Dance”
History & Background
The second of our “occupation dances” – the other is the blacksmith’s dance (D’Hammerschmiedsg’selln). In this dance, the fishermen return from a day on the water, impressing the ladies of the village, and celebrating their catch!
This dance also involves the use of props – we use handkerchiefs to simulate the fish nets.
